2025 marks Canon’s 36th year of partnership with Visa pour l’Image, an event in which the world’s most important stories and those responsible for telling them are brought together and celebrated. This prestigious festival exemplifies Canon’s unwavering commitment and passion to supporting the craft of photojournalism and empowering visual storytellers to tell the stories that need to be told.

Canon at Visa Pour l’Image 2025

During the festival’s Pro Week, from 1st – 6th September, Canon will host an exclusive programme of events to champion visual stories and those creating them on the ground floor of the Palais des Congrès. This year’s highlights include the 25th anniversary of the Canon Female Photojournalist Grant, and a special Reuters collaboration, celebrating four decades of powerful storytelling.

CHAMPIONING POWERFUL STORIES

Canon and Visa pour l’Image will officially present the winners of the 2025 Canon Female Photojournalist and Canon Video Grant - Short Film Documentary. This year’s recipients, Marion Péhée and Shiho Fukada, will each receive €8,000 funding to support the completion of a reportage which will be showcased at the 2026 festival.

Canon Female Photojournalist Grant

In celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Canon Female Photojournalist Grant, a special four-part production will be featured during Visa’s evening screenings, honouring the 24 former recipients and their award-winning projects.

Canon Video Grant – Short Film Documentary

2024 recipient Alan Lau’s grant winning documentary the Gordian knot will be screened during this year’s festival.
